DEVELOPMENT OF AN ANALYTICAL METHOD BY VISIBLE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY FOR DETERMINE ANIONIC DETERGENTS IN CLEAN AND WASTEWATER
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research developed a new alternative method for the determination of anionic detergents in clean and wastewater, by means of the Visible Molecular Absorption Spectrometry technique, at a wavelength of 605 nm using standard reagents Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Crystal violet, Limonene and Xylene, this alternative avoids the use of dangerous solvents such as benzene and chloroform that are used in traditional methods. To guarantee the validity of the method, the quality parameters were determined, obtaining the following results: relative standard deviation values for the repeatability and reproducibility of less than 5 %, for accuracy an average recovery percentage of 98 % was obtained, while the t-student test gave an experimental t value of -0.558 and the critical t of 3.18, the limit of detection is equal to 0.03 ppm and of quantification of 0.11 ppm, the linearity was determined by a correlation coefficient r = 0.99, The quality parameters determined and treated statistically allow to guarantee that this method can be used to quantify the amount of anionic detergents in clean and residual water. Likewise, the electrostatic potential map of crystal violet and lauryl sulfate of sodium, to rationalize intermolecular interactions, based on the electronic distribution of each molecular structure.
