infoANALÍTICA is governed by the principles of scientific integrity, transparency, confidentiality, impartiality, accountability, respect, and non-discrimination. The journal adheres to the Code of Ethics for Research and Learning of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE) and follows the good practices and core principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors’ Responsibilities

• Submit original, accurate, and verifiable work; properly cite all sources; and avoid plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or misleading manipulation of data and images.

• Take responsibility for the content, data, methods, results, interpretations, and conclusions presented in the manuscript.

• Include as authors only those individuals who have made substantial contributions to the work and clearly declare each author’s contributions. Honorary, guest, fictitious authorship, and the unjustified exclusion of contributors are not permitted.

• Obtain the approval of all authors before submission and before making any subsequent changes to the authorship or order of authors.

• Disclose funding sources, conflicts of interest, and any relevant use of artificial intelligence tools.

• Obtain permission to use copyrighted material and, when the research involves human participants, animals, biological samples, regulated substances, traditional knowledge, or sensitive data, provide the applicable ethical approvals, informed consent documents, and authorizations.

• Retain sufficient records of the data and procedures and provide supporting information when legitimately requested by the Editorial Team.

• Immediately report any significant error identified during the editorial process or after publication.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews objectively, rigorously, respectfully, and within the agreed timeframe.

• Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and refrain from using unpublished information for their own benefit or that of third parties.

• Disclose any conflict of interest and decline the review when they cannot guarantee an independent and impartial evaluation.

• Support their observations with clear scientific arguments and identify relevant sources that have been omitted or any potential ethical irregularities.

• Refrain from delegating the review or uploading the manuscript, or any part of it, to external platforms without prior authorization from the Editorial Team.

Editors’ Responsibilities

• Make editorial decisions based on the manuscript’s quality, originality, relevance, expert review, and compliance with ethical standards, without discrimination based on institutional affiliation, nationality, gender, beliefs, or any other condition unrelated to scientific merit.

• Ensure confidentiality, select qualified reviewers, and appropriately manage conflicts of interest.

• Refrain from using unpublished information contained in submitted manuscripts without the authors’ express authorization.

• Investigate allegations of misconduct through a documented process and apply proportionate measures in accordance with these policies and COPE guidelines.

• Preserve the independence of editorial decisions from commercial, institutional, or funding interests.
